My guitar, named “Delaney’s Daisy,” is by far the greatest gift I’ve ever received. Every detail of the guitar is beautiful. From the iridescent inlays and details in the wood, to its small size which is PERFECT for me. Not a single detail went unchecked, it feels like a piece of artwork! When my grandparents gifted Daisy to me, I was at a total loss for words… Mostly I just cried. I have been playing guitar since I was thirteen, so to receive a guitar six years later that was made JUST for me is so special. The sound quality is incredible, and I’ve had a few guitar-playing friends agree with me on that. It is about the size of a baby Taylor guitar, but has the sound of a full-sized guitar. It is also just easy to play and stays in tune so well! It is truly the most beautiful guitar I have personally seen or heard, in every way. Thank you, John!!!

Nicest guitar I've ever owned!

I play guitar regularly at a local church and sometimes playing guitar becomes mechanical / routine. After buying a J. Larson, I once again find myself playing my guitar in my free time purely for pleasure.

The beautiful design and excellent craftsmanship with which each guitar is hand built, is not to be overlooked. The result is an excellent guitar that will far surpass my ability to play it to its limit for a very long time.

I wanted to create the perfect wedding gift for my soon-to-be husband, who is a guitar player, and John made it so fun and easy! We worked together to create a sentimental instrument that not only looked beautiful, but that sounded incredible. John allowed for me to be very much a part of the process, picking details that I knew my husband would like, and creating a truly one-of-a-kind shape that suited my husband’s style. John also provided professional suggestions and education on types of wood and what he thought would make the best instrument. John was such a fun guy to work with and I will definitely work with him again when my son gets old enough for his own guitar!

My wife purchased this guitar as a birthday gift for me in 2014. John personally delivered the guitar the morning of my birthday. The guitar is beautiful and the build quality is super. fretboard nut width is 1 11/16" which I find useful and it has impeccable fret work. I find that the guitar has a bright sound that is getting better the more I play it. Overall, I have to say I love this guitar!

I have had the guitar serviced by John twice to tune things up, adjust the action, and to install an LR Baggs iBeam Active System pickup for use with an amplifier. John's after purchase service has been terrific. The guitar also came with a nice Guardian case.

I would highly recommend purchasing your next guitar from J. Larson Guitars.

My name is John Larson and I build fine handcrafted guitars in Kalama, Washington. I have been a cabinetmaker for over 35 years, and a self-taught guitar player since the age of 17.

About twenty years ago, I found myself dreaming of a new guitar that I couldn't afford. So I decided to build my own. Having been a woodworker since the 8th grade, I figured I had the transferable skills necessary. The process was challenging, and somewhat unfamiliar, but the guitar was enjoyable to play and produced a great sound.

In 2014, I got the bug to build another guitar, and have been building steadily ever since. I have fallen in love with the process of designing and creating a piece of craftsmanship that inspires others to create great music. As a musician, I appreciate the value of a guitar that produces a sound that makes me want to keep playing, responds well to my specific touch, and is too attractive to leave on the wall or in the case. Therefore, that is what I produce in my guitars: a finely crafted instrument, that sounds great, plays easily, and looks desirable. And for professionals to have a capable tool for creating the music they want to create, and for non-professionals to be inspired to play.
